There is a lot to consider when evaluating current or prospective advisors. And you should ask them important questions like: How are you paid? What is your primary expertise? Are you a fivduciary? What are your investment beliefs? – to name a few.
In my experience, one important question is under asked by individuals, but it can be very useful in making a determination: “How does the investment strategy you recommend differ, if at all, from what you personally use?”
